About the Build
In 2021, our small business set out to construct our very own Mini Golf course. Follow our journey and watch River Thames Mini Golf come to life.
Where to begin?
Where to begin?
Building a Mini Golf course is certainly easier said than done.
Our course would be situated on the Thames riverside and with that our theme was decided, take our users on a trip along the Thames without needing to leave Staines.
Each hole themed around a different Thames town, starting in Oxford all the way to Central London.
Once the route itself was built, the models could begin to be installed. The first model being Windsor Castle and the final model being Heathrow Airport.
What next?
What next?
While our course may have looked as though it was nearing completion, we still more to do. Our team set about digging tunnels which would allow a watering system to be installed across the entire course.
In fact, the tunnels contain nearly 700 metres of pipe!
This was done during the winter, our least busy season, in order for our course to be ready to go by the summer. However, this did mean many cold and dark days for our team.
So while the course may not have looked its best for a little while, our watering system allows the flowers, plants, and grass to thrive.
Finishing Touches
Finishing Touches
With the completion of the watering system and fast approaching summer, it was all hands on deck to finish the course.
Dozens of flowers were planted along the borders of the course (all of which being watered by our new watering system). Little Green boats were also hand-painted in order to be dotted along the golf course’s river, mimicking the actual river just metres away.
Maintenance
Maintenance
After years of hard work, River Thames Mini Golf was finally finished. However, our team’s commitment didn’t end there. Throughout the year, the grass needs cutting, paths need cleaning and flowers need watering. All so that you, our Mini Golf’s users, can enjoy every second of your River Thames adventure.
If you have any questions about the building process, feel free to chat to any of our staff members on your next visit to River Thames Mini Golf.
